Using QProcess to call an external application to interact with user via prompt

I'm trying to write an application that will call a console app via cmd.exe in Windows. The simple app is purely CLI and designed to prompt the user to input data in succession (e.g. it may ask "What's your favorite color?" then after the user types in "blue" it'll present another question in the prompt and the process repeats. The problem that I'm having is that I can't seem to get QProcess to get the questions at the prompt presented to the user and have the user enter their response to call write() in order to pass that in as the app's input. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?
