Associate Program Icon for Windows Desktop

Hey, simple question here...can't seem to find the answer via search.

I want to use an icon with the program so it shows up automatically on the desktop. How do I associate the icon with the built exe? Windows is just giving me some blank default icon with it.

I've set the application icon in the code so it shows up in the top left and when minimized, but it doesn't make it to the desktop.

Same issue for linux...if there is a different answer.

YEAH!!!! Thank-you for spotting that doc. How did you find that anyhow??? I looked for it starting from the top and...uhmm....lost.
