    Default qtdemo doesn't exist...

I installed QT via the Synaptic Package Manager in my Ubuntu box but the qtdemo application doesn't exist. is it a ubuntu package related or is it only available in commercial edition?

Package related. There is a chance it is not packaged at all and you need to compile it yourself.

You have to compile it yourself. It is not available through the standard Ubuntu repositories.
