Default Qt Designer 4.4.0 is slooooow to open

Qt Designer 4.4.0 is slooooow to open, this thing takes like 20sec to open. 4.4.0-rc1 opened up near immediately. What gives?

Delete Designer's configuration file (or registry keys). It's path is Trolltech/Designer.conf relative to the config root (like ~/.config).

Yeah, I had tried deleting the stuff and it didn't make any difference. Its so strange, I double click and can then go grab a drink and come back before it loads.

Hmm... so i just tried to fire up 4.4.0-rc1 and it does the same thing... it didn't before. I'm lost as to whats changed. So it probably isn;t a problem with 4.4.0 specifically cause rc1 didn't have that slow startup problem.

Deleting the config file should have worked... Oh... I know... Designer used to act very strange for me when my network connection wasn't working. I think it was caused by the webkit plugin, but I'm not sure. Do you have an active (and working) internet connection when you start Designer?

Yeah, my internet connection is ok. It seems to take exactly 30sec for it to open.

Now when I compiled Qt 4.4.0 I did not build it with webkit support... I wonder if this build of Qt acts the same on my laptop....

So I copied over the qt files onto my desktop where I also do development work and it opened up designer just fine. My laptop is XP and my desktop (where its slow to open) is Vista SP1. Strange.

Maybe you didn't delete all the config files...
