C++ Library for serial communication

if this is a Qt app you can use qextserialport

am newbie to Qt. Iam working on Qt 4.1.1. I have to develop an application using serial port. i downloaded qextserialport-1.1.tar. How should i use this. plz help me. i got struck up here.
