qwt plugin not appearing in qt3

Dear all,
i'm a new buddie, trying to use QWT for plotting. i've installed the qwt-5.1.1 package and set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc. my OS is opensuse 10.2 and i've installed both qt3 and qt4. the qwt plugin appears only in qt4 designer, but not in qt3 designer. is it possible to get the qwt plugin in both designers OR how to get it in qt3 alone?

Of course you also have to build two versions of Qwt: for Qt3 and Qt4.

sorry to say i have qt3.1?
so which version of qwt is supported by qt3.1
and does it supports QwtPlot Layout.for multiple plots in single layout.
