Something like this:

QDesktopWidget *w = QApplication::desktop();
QPixmap screenshot = QPixmap::grabWindow(w->screen()->winId());

QDesktopWidget *w = QApplication::desktop();
QPixmap screenshot = QPixmap::grabWindow(w->screen()->winId());

To copy to clipboard, switch view to plain text mode 

This takes a screenshot of the desktop.
