Qt USB???

I was given an assignment to have Qt talk through USB to a tuner on the other end. I have no clue where to start and I've never done this. I've tried reading and understanding things online and I've come up short on my end. Could someone please point me in the right direction, or show me how to start doing this?

For communication you can use libusb.
