Default Using the qt.gitorious.org repository and uilding Qt from source

I've newer used git before but would like to build Qt from source.
Could someone give me a (or point me to an existing) short explanation on how to download, keep current and build Qt from the http://qt.gitorious.org repository?
I would especially interested to build the latest Qt 4.7 release candidate(s) and Qt Creator 2.0.1.
    Thank you!

On how to use git, see e.g. http://linux.yyz.us/git-howto.html. After you get the sources you can just build them. Qt creator is a separate repository.
