Default Distributing software with MySQL connections across different MS OS:es

    Hello!
I'm developing an application that uses a database connection to a MySQL database and I'm starting to wonder how easily it will be to use it on different versions of Windows. I'm primarily interested in using it on WinXP, Vista and Win7. Preferably both 32 and 64bit versions.

Considering the (in my experience) painful process of compiling the MySQL drivers I'm wondering:
Will I have to compile drivers for every specific platform? Maybe even for/on every single computer I will install it on?

What does your knowledge/experience tell you about this?

    Thank you!

I realize just now that this thread might have been better off on the "installation and deployment" category.
I don't think I can move the thread myself so I kindly ask for a moderator do it for me.

Of course answers are still welcomed while in this section. =)
    Thank you!
