What has Nokia losing mobile phone sales got to do with Qt ?

And Qt is a library framework. Calling it "Qt C++" is just wrong.

Well what i meant was, i am a beginner learning Qt and C++ to develop app for symbian .

Now as far as i know and correct me if i am wrong all Nokia mobiles run on Symbian. Right? Worldwide handset sales rose by 32% in 2010 but Nokia's share of the total handset market fell to 27% in the fourth quarter from 36.6% a year earlier and for the full year 2010 its market share declined to 28.9% from 36.4% in 2009. This is a big fall.

Should i continue my quest to learn Qt and C++ or jump on Android bandwagon or is it time to stop, think and see how it pans out.

please suggest, U R the expert.

If you are concerned Nokia will not fare well, dont learn Qt.
But Qt is not about Nokia, Qt is opensource.
All Linux users ( KDE especially) support Qt.
Qt is being used more and more for embedded devices. And in future more embedded devices can be expected.
    Qt is C++...
Qt is cross platform.. not just desktop but embedded and mobile phones too..
And its a matter of time Qt is ported to Android also !!

    decide yourself..

Qt runs on much much more than just mobile phones, but if mobile phone development is what you want to do then yes, go for one of the big sellers like iPhone or Android.

Actually Nokia Ovi Store had 2 millions downloads each day four months ago and now they are having 3,5 millions. There are not so many applications and there are a lot of devices with the possibility to download software from Ovi Store.

BUT Nokia QA is just crazy... you need few hours to upload your app to Android Store, but you need more than two weeks to upload to Ovi Store. And this only happens if the program passes all the QA test. It's quite normal to have any sort of stupid problem in a description, really easy to change manually in a second, but it forces you to submit it again and restart the two weeks counting again. By the way, I'd say the documentation is far to be clear and perfect.
Some people left Nokia-Qt development because they needed more than two months to have their application available on the shop.

Sounds like Apple, sometimes they can take upto a month before they get back to you on your product approval.

If you wish to focus on a particular market then go for the best this particular market has to offer. If you are looking to keeping your options open then Qt is a good choice. there s no single good or bad solution here. If you don't know C++ or Java then I suggest you start learning any object oriented language before deciding on your future. You can always switch languages but you need to learn them first. Otherwise you'll be strugling regardless of which toolkit you choose.
Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.
