Default Touch screen, home automation and Qt

I'm looking for some kind of iPad or HP Slate type of screen that I can mount on a wall.
I would like to create my own user interface with Qt.

There are a few problems I have with this scenario, the most important one is Qt.
Can I easily create a small application using Qt on the iPad?

Does anyone have any experience in this field?

I have been plyaing with very similar ideas for quite some time now, but have no time for this unfortunately...
Anyway, for iPad, the issue is that there is no Qt port for the iOS yet.
I know there is one in progress though, you can google it, and see if its in any usable state.
But the touch pads market is growing, I am quite sure that if you look around you will find one which has an OS that Qt supports.
Depending on your DIY electronics hack skills, you could for example take a some sort of PPC board and run embedded Linux with Qt on it.
Of course, you have to make sure that you have drivers for your touch screen.

    Thanks high_flyer.

I know the HP Slate has Windows 7 (some version of it at least). So Qt is supported there. I just need to find a way to attach it nicely on a wall (including charging).

My father has a Siemens Logo plc for controlling different lighting circuits and other things. It has a little external controller with a 4x10 character LCD which of course is not easy to navigate in. So I wanted to put a touch screen in place. But if you start looking into ready made systems, you end up spending thousands of euro's/dollars.

And, it is not as fun as doing it your self!

I considered an Asus EEE touch (EEE PC T101MT) once, which costed around 400 euro. But my wife liked it so she's using it as a laptop now...

Yes, that is also a good way to go.
Now you can find them for ~300EU.
But it doesn't have a touch screen...

The Asus EEE PC T101MT ? Yes it does. It is even multi-touch.

I've looked at the Asus tablets before, but I think they are all running Android, on which Qt isn't supported (unfortunately)

There is a community port to android - but I don't know in what status.
You might want to have look.

If you consider the The Asus EEE PC T101MT a tablet (the screen can be flipped around so it can be handled as a tablet), then no. It has an atom inside and runs Windows 7 quite smooth. I guess people have put some unix/linux on it already too.
