Default Is QML a good choice for desktop apps?

Recently I am developing apps for android(sadly, I can't use Qt), after study and deploy the
UI by the xml files provided by the android framework, I pretty like the way of it.No wonder
why Qt would like to develop QML.

After surfing, I find out that QML is(was?) target for mobile phone device, and somebody
say we should use traditional way to deploy UI if we want to develop desktop app because
    QML is not mature yet.

What is the situation of QML?Is it mature enough for desktop app? Thanks
