Default Nokia gives CEO $6.2M to offset lost Microsoft pay

Apparently Nokia is doing quite well financially. Shoving Qt to the side and paying "lost wages" to Elop. Beautiful!

Well that's the normal madness. Unfortunately. What is more "amusing" in my eyes is Nokias repot to SEC:

Our proposed partnership with Microsoft may not succeed in creating a competitive smartphone platform for high-quality differentiated winning smartphones or in creating new sources of revenue for us.
And there is a lot of more "funny" stuff in 3D. And they think that switching to Windows will take two years (p.13). In that time also MeeGo could have been finished

    Well, that's live.

See for yourself: http://services.corporate-ir.net/SEC...ExMDMxMS5wZGY= form http://investors.nokia.com/phoenix.z...224&p=irol-sec

As far as I understand this is a standard thing to do. The guy had to sell his M$ shares so Nokia compensates for his possible loses due to this fact. Let's not be paranoid
Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.

When you read the report, it shows that Nokia is well aware of the risks that are involved in adopting the Windows Phone platform. Actually I'm quite impressed with how many issues are listed. And still they go ahead with it all...

They keep the other platforms alive though, so it seems they are betting on different horses. And they are betting the most money on Windows Phone, which is their strategic decision. Time will tell if this is a smart thing to do or not.

    Regards,
    Marc
