    Default Unreadable colours for Documentation

    Hi,

    I'm using a dark colour scheme in KDE (Wonton Soup) and the documentation in QtCreator and QtAssistant isn't showing correctly. Is there a way of changing the colours of the documentation? Via a stylesheet or even recompiling the doc.

    It looks like this:

    Quite unreadable.

    Sorry to bump this, but maybe someone who could help might have missed it.

    I am having the same problem, this is really frustrating! I am currently using KDE, but I was using gnome and it had the same problem. I was hoping KDE would fix the problem, although I really like KDE

    If I choose a color theme that is dark, it choose a font color that is the same or slightly lighter, which makes the help document unreadable.

    if i choose a color theme where the window background is white or a really bright color it chooses a good contrast font color like black.

    I dislike the bright colors it messes with my eyes.

    I have Googled this for a while and no one seems to know how to adjust the colors of the help, this is really stupid this is only app where I have color issues when I change the color theme!

    Some one must know how to fix this, with out have to use one of the really bright color themes?????

    You can always change the stylesheet of the docs and rebuild the manual.

    Yes, I did think of something like that... Would you mind telling us where we could find this stylesheet? I couldn't find it the last time I searched for it.

    I think they are in tools/qdoc3/test/ or tools/qdoc3/doc/ of the Qt source bundle.

    The ones you see in Creator are in a form of SQLite database created from textual documents containing special formatting macros.

    That is very smart way to say that it simply sucks. If you (of course not you personally) don't use system theme and use css instead - allow user to subsitute his own css on the fly.

    Having said that you can change the stylesheet of your whole application using qss

    assistant -stylesheet=fullpath/ass.qss

    and simplest ass.qss would contain
    QTextEdit{ background-color: white; }

    That of course will make background white, so it is only a quick and dirty half-solution. I am lazy to look for how to change text color at the moment, but would not mind knowing that myself.

    QTextEdit{ background-color: white; }
    Doesn't work in my case.

    QWidget{ background-color: red; } working!
    But looks very ugly.
    Why QTextEdit not sensitive to QSS?

    Any other solution?

    Hi, please start a new thread for your problem instead of resurrecting and hijacking a two year old thread.
