New to Qt

I am new to Qt and would like to learn Qt.I installed the freeware of it on my Pc.I dont have Visual Studio installed on my Pc.Do i need it for Qt Development?

What freeware? And now you do not need Visual Studio. You can compile everything with gcc, which should be already bundled if you have installed the SDK. What else do you need: profound knowledge of C++.
