    Question bandwidth

    hi all
    good time
i have a general question about networking.

    thanks

A non-technical explanation might be best:
If your network carrier is seen as a highway, then frequency is how regularly a car goes by. Bandwidth would be the amount of cars that can travel past the same point simultanuously.

IMHO this explanation may not be very suitable here as here frequency of cars and number of cars possible to pass at once are not related quantities. Where as in carrier frequency and Bandwidth are related.

When you don't know how to do it then it is not that you may do it wrong but you may not do it right.

In simple terms, Bandwidth is maximum amount of data that can be transferred in a unit time(say in a second)), this is typically directly proportional to frequency of the signal carrier. Higher the frequency, higher is the Bandwidth.

In other terms, frequency is one of the measures of the electrical signal carrier, and bandwidth is a measure of the maximum logical data that can be transferred at that signal frequency.

Alternatively I'd say that "frequency" says how fast words come out of your mouth (e.g. three words per second) and "bandwith" is how much information you can provide (by speaking) in a unit of time. Note that it takes into consideration that different words and tokens in different languages carry a different amount of information per word.
Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.
