Default How to configure QtCreator on Windows with mingw

I am used to Qt with the SDK for Qt 4.6. It was a progress of install-open-compile.
Now I had to install mingw separately (why ??) and Qt Creator separately. So far solvable.

But If I open QtCreator _nothing_ is configured. No Qt Version, no compiler, no kits (what is that?)

So my question is - how do I configure Qt Creator to build a Qt project.

(And the second question would be - why is there no autoconfiguration?)

Go to Qt Creator, Tools > Options > Qt and select you qmake.exe and mingw

cause qt creator does not know where are you files
