    Red face Qt for geotechnical engineering

    Hi all..

    Just showcasing my fresh project. It helps me a lot with my work. For those interested;

    - it imports so called CPT files (cone penetration tests)
    - converts CPT files to soillayers stacked on top of each other
    - stores them in a sqlite database
    - displays them on a map
    - you can draw lines on the map
    - with that line you can generate a 2D model of the subsoil

    Next steps will be 3D support (looking forward to using QGlWidget!) and the generation of calculation files.

    It is great fun to learn Qt this way! I build like a prototype with Qt and Python and then started to develop in C++. Qt makes developing really simple once you get the hang of it!

    I add a picture and a video..

    Amazing stuff Qt!! Thx a lot!

    • What you did is amazing! Congratulations!
    • Looks great. But is it capable of analyzing soil stability tests?
    • I heard Python is one good software. I think this can improve.
    • The map in the picture doesn’t look like it’s real. Haha
    • I have also used Qt. I didn’t know that it can result to this. Thanks for sharing!
