Default Qt embedded version required for running Qt apps over VNC?

I only found this on how to run Qt through VNC: http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/qt-embedded-vnc.html
Does it mean that running Qt application over VNC requires istalling Qt-embeded rather tha "classical" Qt for Linux?
Or is there any other way?
I want to install Qt on a linux cluster and run it from a VNC client.
Thx in advance for your help.

The old embedded version is one that had a VNC server as one of its backends.

However you can use a number of backends with a system VNC server.
e.g. the linuxfb backend with Linux framebuffer VNC server, or the xcb backend with an X11 VNC server

    Cheers,
