    From one site:
Debreate is a free and open source software that has been designed from the ground up to allow you to easily and quickly create binary packages, native installers for Debian-based operating systems, such as Ubuntu and Linux Mint, in the DEB file format, using nothing both source tarballs (tar.gz files).

    Solved,
One cannot install debreate on Ubuntu 14.04 package debreate.deb. It uses old libs, changed on to new ones on 14.04.
The workaround is to use tar.gz source and launcn via python.
    Thanks,
