How to get an area of the widget transparent...???

Hi,
I am using Qt 4.5.3 version and i have a requirement of setting an area of the widget as transparent.

eg:

widget Size:
width = 400
height = 400

Now i want an area of QRect(10,10,100,100) to be transparent on the widget how can i achieve the same..???
