ok, I'm an 83 year old structural engineer that has been using computers since the middle 50's, I wrote my first program in 1970. I've programmed in PCOS, assembler, dos, Windows, and Linux. But I have a thing about XP & Vista.
I am writing 4 Linux programs, Labels, Beam, DG and PM. In the process I am trying to develop a user interface that basically eliminates the "User Learning Curve". (enhancement to the point of non-usability);
I have attached 4 snapshots that show the user face of each one. It took an 85 year old friend of mine to 20 minutes to learn how to edit, sort and print labels for the 250 members of her organization.
The second is for a pretcast concrete erection company. The third one in a 3 element indexing progrgram for my disc storage device (DiscGear). I plan to submit it to DiscGear for use by their customers. Both Windows and Linux.
The last one is an early rewrite in Linux of a "Vertically Integrated Graphric Program" that I wrote in VB5. to replace CAD programs that are so prone for errors.
These 4 programs while drastically different in subject, use the same type of user interface.
You asked what i wanted to do in qt in windows. I hope this answers you.
